ESC is different than other trade organizations because of an ongoing relationship with federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.   ESC's Law Enforcement Liaison Committee provides free training to law enforcement and partner with them in helping protect the energy sector, specifically in the energy producing states of the U.S.

FEATURED AT OUR February 9th Winter Meeting: Behavior Analysis of the Shooter; the Fort Hood Shootings

Behavioral Pattern Recognition is a collection of indications that must lead to the conclusion that something is wrong in an individual's behavior.  In this presentation, all these behavioral indicators of Nidal Hassan will be discussed; they are evident since 2001 until the day he committed the shooting attack at Fort Hood.  These indications, some could raise a red flag by themselves, and some as a collection of indications, should raise an alert that this man was, at least, a potential radical Muslim if not an outright terrorist.  Most unfortunately, those supervising Major Hassan did not recognize these indicators, raise any red flags, or connect the dots.

In an effort to better help fight crime in the oil patch and the entire energy sector, your Energy Security Council launched a Energy Crime Stoppers hotline and in April 2009 this statewide program expanded into seven addtional states.  Tipsters in Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming now can join Texans to report anonymous tips through 888-645-TIPS (8477).   We are seeking your help in publicizing the program through the use of Energy Crime Stoppers signs, bumper stickers, and hard hat decals.  Click Here to Order Energy Crime Stoppers Merchandise.

The hotline number for Energy Crime Stoppers is 888-645-TIPS (8477).
